THE PLAN:

Music therapists: we want you make videos of yourselves and/or your clients singing, moving, dancing and playing to the song “Sing it Loud”. Then upload the video using Vimeo and send us the link and password.

We will edit the submissions and create one emotionally engaging video that will be shared publicly to promote the profession of music therapy, gain public interest and draw more donors.

It will be a lovely way to complement some client goals and is a wonderful way to promote engagement in the community. However, this kind of project will not be a good fit for all clients. Please consider carefully which clients you might engage in a project like this.

Contact [email protected] if you have any questions about how to get clients involved.

HOW TO SHOOT + SUBMIT VIDEOS:

  1. Grab your favorite recording device – Camcorder, cell phone, iPad, go-pro. The better the device, the better the resolution – but a cellphone will work fine!
  2. Make sure there is available lighting – outside or a bright room inside.
  3. Download the song. Learn it (or fake it!)
  4. Sing, play, move or dance your heart out. Make sure you play along with the recording.
  5. Important: Get your consent and media release forms signed and send those to us either through password protected email or registered mail requiring a signature. Do this before you upload your video. Keep a copy of the consent forms for your files. Consents are needed for everyone participating, not just clients.
  6. Record and upload your video to Vimeo. Sign up for free Vimeo Basic and password protect your video.
  7. Email us the link by August 31st at [email protected]. Email us the password in a separate email with an unrelated subject line.
  8. Follow us on Facebook and stay tuned! We’ll keep you posted on the progress of the video and it’s release!
